Nuclear Stress Testing

A nuclear stress test (also known as myocardial perfusion imaging) is a test that enables providers to assess the blood flow to the heart at rest and during periods of stress. Medicine can be used to simulate the effects of exercise for patients who are unable to exercise sufficiently. Our in-house test is helpful in diagnosing coronary disease and in determining the severity of a patient’s known coronary disease. The images generated by this study are digitally transmitted to a consulting cardiologist at North Carolina Heart & Vascular who provides a detailed report to the patient’s primary care physician.
