To make an appointment with your personal physician or physician extender, please call the provider’s office, using the numbers listed below. Please note that you will receive a telephone reminder one day prior to your scheduled appointment. If you are unable to keep a scheduled appointment for any reason, give our office a call so we can offer the time slot to another patient.

Hospital Affiliation

Clinton Medical providers utilize Sampson Regional Medical Center when a patient requires hospitalization. For adults, inpatient care is provided and coordinated by the hospitalist physicians associated with Sampson Regional. Clinton Medical pediatricians and family physicians provide care for our pediatric patients and newborns.

Payment Policies

Clinton Medical will file your insurance for you. However, to do this as accurately as possible, we must review your current insurance card at each visit. If you participate in a managed care program, Clinton Medical Clinic or the name of a physician in the group must appear on the card. If not listed, you will be given the choice of paying for the visit or rescheduling your appointment. All copayments will be collected at the time of registration and insurance will be filed daily by the practice. If you do not have insurance which will cover treatment by our providers, payment is expected at the time of service. We accept payment by cash, check, debit card, Visa, Mastercard or Discover. Upon posting of insurance payments, any additional copays, coinsurance or deductibles, will become the patient’s responsibility. Clinton Medical uses family billing and statements are mailed on a monthly basis. Outstanding balances are due within 30 days.

Insurance and Billing

Clinton Medical offers the following information to help you understand our policies regarding health insurance and managed care plans. The practice will file your insurance for you. To assist us, please bring your current insurance card with you as the receptionist will verify your insurance coverage during registration. Please familiarize yourself with your insurance plan’s guidelines. Every plan is different and the plan’s policies must be followed. Also, know your plan’s copay amount as you will be required to pay your copay at registration. Because of the delays in settling third party liability claims, Clinton Medical does not accept third party liability. Payment of services resulting from automobile accidents or other accidents is the responsibility of the patient and is expected at the time of service. Clinton Medical has been a participating practice in the Medicare program for over 40 years. We file all claims for our Medicare patients. In addition to Medicare, the practice also participates in the following insurance plans:

  • State Employees Health Plan
  • United Healthcare

Prescription Refills

Prescription refills are only issued during normal business hours. You should contact your primary care physician’s office for all refills. We ask that you allow a minimum of 48 hours to process your medication request. Also, please do not wait until you have run out of medication to request a refill. Certain narcotic prescriptions must be written by law and cannot called or electronically submitted to your pharmacy. Written prescriptions can be picked up any time during regular business hours. Please be prepared to show a photo ID when picking up prescriptions.

Patient Privacy

It is the standard practice at the Clinton Medical Clinic to protect the privacy of all our patients. Per the guidelines of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, we safeguard personal and health information. Our Notice of Privacy Practices outlines how the practice may use and disclose protected health information. You may download a copy of this notice from the link in the forms section of our website. At your first visit to the practice, you will be given an additional copy of the notice and a receipt acknowledgment will be entered in your electronic health record.

Urgent Care

Each day, one of our providers is available to treat your urgent care needs from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM and from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. If your child needs to be evaluated and treated, call (910) 592-6011 and ask to speak with the staff of the office call pediatrician. If you’re an adult and need to be seen, call (910) 592-6011 and ask to speak with the office call family physician.

Weekend Hours

Since 1985, Clinton Medical has also been open on the weekends as a service to our patients. On Saturday, the practice is open from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM for treatment of urgent care needs. On Sunday, Clinton Medical has urgent care hours from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. The weekend hours are for walk-in patients only as the practice’s telephone system is not operational on the weekends.
Clinton Medical also has extended urgent care hours during the week.
